vacation log - ridin' high

We had another fun day today. We slept in pretty late, lazed around, did a load of laundry and then headed out for the afternoon. We did some Old Time Photos first, walked through a couple of shops, then rode the aerial tram to Ober Gatlinburg. When you get to the top there is all kind of things to do including rides and iceskating. After much debate, we decided to do the chair lift that goes on up to the very top of the mountain. Kevin was a nervous wreck the whole time about taking Kay-Kay because there is only a bar that goes over you. I was pretty sure she would sit still and be just fine - she was. We had her so sandwhiched in between us that she could barely move, let alone fall out. I wasn't going to but maybe I will post the pictures we bought of us even though the bar went right across her face in the picture. She was perfect - she didn't wiggle or get restless. She just sat there enjoying the ride. There is another chairlift down in Gatlinburg but I don't think it goes as high as the one up in Ober Gatlinburg. After we got off the chairlift, we let Kay play on the playground there. She has never really played on rope bridges before but after a couple of times, she had the hang of it (no pun intended). When we finished there, we rode back down to town and went shopping till late. (We really didn't buy much of anything though.) We have a bunch of pictures on Kevin's camera but I have to get my lazy self up and get new batteries for his camera before I can get them loaded to my computer and on blogger.

Kevin & Kay at the bottom of the chair lifts (after we
were back safe and sound). By the way, they went all
the way to the top of that mountain you see.

Kay going through the rope bridge (it wasn't
really that big).

The bigger slides were quite fast. You pretty much shot
off of the end every time. They had padding at the
bottom of each one.
