These pictures don't quite get me up to Easter but they are from the Easter weekend. Kaelyn had both that Thursday and Friday off of school. I'm not sure why Thursday but we enjoyed it anyway. She and I went shopping for Easter clothes Thursday and then Friday, Kevin was off as well. We did some stuff around the house, then we went down to the Brown's and went out on the jet skis for awhile. It was PERFECT weather for it. There is nothing like the feeling of the wind and spray blowing in your face (as long as you have sunglasses on). :-)
Saturday, we went to a farm out in Palm City for their Easter activities. I had read that they had hay rides, a "barrel train", a petting zoo, a bounce house, egg hunts, egg dying etc. It turned out to be quite a nice time for us and we really enjoyed being out in the country.
Kevin and I went out together first. Kaelyn wasn't sure how she felt about riding. After the two of us got back the first time, she said that she would try it as long as I went too. I think she enjoyed it.
A thumbs up pose.
Zach and Andrea.
This was Saturday morning before we left for the day's activities. The cute bunny ears are compliments of Nana. Kaelyn decided, after wearing these all day Saturday, that she needed to wear them to school Monday to show all her friends because "they will think I'm hilarious", as she put it. She forgot to wear them Monday but she wore them to school on Tuesday.
D&D farms also does special activites at Halloween, Christmas, and you can do birthday parties there. They are open year round and you can pick your own vegetables and buy different produce and farm grown stuff there. They had HUGE fields with quite a variety of things. On the hayride, we went through the fields and we saw cucumbers, peppers, onions, rutabagas, eggplant, tomatoes, corn, squash, sunflowers and other various flowers.
Feeding the goats.
We paid a dollar to get a whole big bucket full of various greens and things that the animals could eat.
There were two calves in with the goats and they were SO cute!
This particular goat was funny. He wasn't shy at all about pushing his way through and taking as much as he could get.
I know you probably thought that those were really giant strawberries in the truck but it's actually Kaelyn and I. ;-)
There were also pot bellied pigs, which are actually kind of cute when they are young like this.
