The Reluctant Princess

Once upon a time, there was a little princess. She was actually more of a princess in disguise as she preferred to run around in t-shirts, shorts, and her "pink shoes" - her beloved pink crocs. Some of her closest friends were mice just like another famous princess all except I don't think Cinderella's mice friends were named Mickey and Minnie. She preferred drinking chocolate milk over having a cup of tea and she liked to participate in the VERY "unprincessly" activity of climbing on anything and everything she could - and on some things that weren't "climbable". Her mother and father tried to instruct her in the ways of a princess but every Sunday when they dressed her in a beautiful dress and shoes, she vehemently protested!
Well, the time came for the royal ball - the one where every princess wears her most beautiful dress and then goes to the mall and gets a bunch of candy. When it came time to get ready for the "ball-oween", the princesses' mommy put a beautiful dress on the little princess. However, the little girl did NOT want to wear her beautiful dress. She wanted to go to the ball incognito in her "street clothes". The princess cried and protested loudly, "All done! All done. Take it off?" She was NOT impressed with her headband, she was NOT impressed with her lovely dress with many layers, and she was especially NOT impressed with the glitter from her dress that kept getting on her hands! But... her mommy and daddy were both impressed with her outfit so all of the protests went unheeded. The royal family all loaded into their silver Toyota Camry coach. Because of the economy, the royal family can only afford a silver coach rather than a gold one. :) After a brief stop at the Burger King banquet hall, the royal family was off to the ball. By this point, the little princess had accepted the fact that she was going to have to wear the ridiculous garb for the evening. The chicken nuggets from the royal [BK] chef helped matters alot. The princess wandered around the mall a bit dazed by everything going on around her but she left with a bucket full of candy. The royal family then did more trick-or-treating around the palace grounds - better known as the campus to most people. By 8:00, the family was DONE with all the trick-or-treating. It's not that they were worried that their Camry was going to turn into a pumpkin, they just had to get home to finish packing because they had to get up at 4:00 AM so the princess and her mother could catch a 7:00 flight. So the little princess TOLERATED the evening and ended up with two buckets full of candy and they all lived happily ever after!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Very original and cute. It's hard not to beam while watching the pictures. Did you notice that the first picture of her getting candy, the person looks a lot like Rachel.

Well, I miss you honey while you're in NY - hurry home.
