Birthday pictures & a "beautiful dream come true".

I am finally getting around to posting pictures from Kaelyn's birthday. This year was much different than her other birthdays have been because she knew what was supposed to happen this year. It kind of made it more fun for us. Since her birthday was on a Thursday, we didn't do her party till the weekend but we let her open most of her presents from us Thursday evening and she wore a "birthday princess" ribbon to school that day. She could hardly wait for Kevin to get home from work and then she barely ate any dinner because she was so anxious to open presents. We had found some really, really great sales on toys at Wal-mart right after Christmas (like $45 things for $9, $20 things for $5 etc.) and put them back for her birthday so she had several things to open. That's what the first few pictures of the slideshow are from. She could not understand it Saturday evening when we picked up her cake from Wal-mart and it got put in the refrigerator till the next day. When we got home from church Sunday, she decided she wanted her Cinderella princess dress on. She has asked[on her own] to wear it only one other time. That's pretty major for her because she can hardly stand the feel of it when she first gets it on because of her sensory issues. She decided she wanted it on though and then she just cringed the whole time I was putting it on her. I said, "You don't HAVE to wear it Kaelyn" but she wanted to wear it badly enough that she tolerated the feeling. Then she wanted the "princess hat" on her head too. After she got it all on, she went to the mirror and said, "Oh, you look like a beautiful dream come true!" (Not sure which movie she got that line from!) She kept it on long enough to get some cute pictures but she was all done with it after a little bit. I included those snapshots in the slideshow. All the rest are from the party. We had a nice time and she talked about it for several days after that.

Kay Kay looks like she had a wonderful birthday. All the princess pictures were sooo cute and the music just went right along with it.

LOVE the pictures!! I was getting all emotional when it came to the frosting on the face picture and I just laughed out loud. She's gonna love that one some day. Also got amused at the "relaxing" after the part one. She looks all refreshed, but her crown seemed a little worse for the wear! :-)

verification "word" malia - wasn't that the name you and Rach liked? :-)
